Poem of the Week-Ducky

The bent duck

Stared at Mary Jane

Expecting to be laughed at.

But she said,

“I see you are having trouble

 Standing straight.

 Can I help you?”

 His feathers dragged

 Across the muddy puddle.

With his beak

Focused on the ground

 He stumbled

As though blind

When he hit the cement

Domino the duck

Froze.

Mary tried to sing her words

To Domino

But remained mute

Not understanding

The English language.

Mary Jane

Took hold of Domino

And with her hands

Straightened his neck

He quacked

His form of thanking her

Because he was able to see

The path in front of him.

 He saw the blue sky

For the first time.
