Cut Me Loose

I was intrigued by the premise of an orthodox girl and her journey to break the bonds of religious extremism. But this memoir left me disgusted.

It felt disingenuous when the writer had lines like “I was trying to create the life of a normal secular young person. I was a crazy broken slut. I would become a prostitute” or “Girls who left the Yeshivah life always became sluts and whores had been taught to her thorough out her life”

The author proceeded to badger the reader with sexual assault along with the cutting of her arms and legs in unnecessary detail. This was an unnecessary memoir.
