Poem of the Week-Egging

Boiling four white eggs

Bubbling signals

Flame out

Cover for thirteen minutes

White snot from the egg fissure

Sullies the scalding water

Shelling in the sink

Fingertips singed

Nails peeling off cracked stubs

Rinsing the remaining particles

Smashing into the light Costco tuna

With grated Trader Joe’s organic carrots

And 99 cent store relish and mustard

Walking on eggshells

While the creation marinates

Scared of cholesterol landmines

Crippling negative projections

Anticipating gas pockets after eating

Wait to break the recurring tapes.
