The love scenes between Daphne and the Duke Simon are the high point of this eight episode series. At times you can accuse. Bridgerton of being annoying, fluffy, too much of a Jane Austen copy job, lame humor, and contrived. But it hooks you with million dollar looking sets and costumes along with luscious performers who bring an authenticity to every ridiculous line of dialogue. And don’t get me started with Rege-Jean Page who plays Simon who practically destroys the camera with his sexuality and over the top good looks.
