Paul Rudnick’s clever and insightful script along with Jay Roach’s vigorous direction make Coastal Elites an extremely watchable movie. Due to pandemic limitations the structure of five different monologues works as best as it can. Each performer from Bette Midler to Sarah Paulson invests an energy that engages us. The film gives us faith that Corona hasn’t completely killed film making.
