This six-hour miniseries about Napoleon is a fine way to be entertained and learn about one of the most famous military figures who ever lived. He was crowned emperor and during his reign was able to control a good portion of Europe. The actor who plays him Christian Clavier does an acceptable job but he is no match for Isabella Rossellini, John Malkovich and Gerard Depardieu. It can be a long melodramatic slog that threatens to derail the production. But there are enough gorgeous sets and costumes along with epic battle scenes to enrich your viewing experience. The link below is the first ninety-minutes if you want a taste of it.
