Blow the Man Down is a ridiculous film noir comedy mystery melodrama or to put it another way, the film has no idea what it wants to be.  The usually subtle Margo Matindale is unrecognizably over the top. With an Irish Greek Chorus singing every ten minutes you’ll be gasping in bewilderment. For fans of Annette O’Toole and June Squibb you’ll be happy to know they can be proud of their short inconsequential parts.
