Parting Glances was an important gay film that dealt with AIDS in a refreshing and life affirming manner in 1986. Despite feeling messy and dated, the joy the characters express in the time of a pandemic gives us a hopefulness with the Corona Virus. A young Steve Buscemi is in the cast. The sweetness of the movie is bittersweet for those of us who lost their loved ones to AIDS. The director died four years later in 1990 and never made another film.
