I am flabbergasted at the clips on this Apollo Theater documentary. Billie Holiday, Eartha Kitt, James Brown, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Smokey Robinson, Ray Charles, Patti Labelle, Dinah Washington, Gladys Knight and Aretha Franklin. And these are clips we’ve never seen before. Most are at the beginning of their careers when they first appeared at The Apollo. Excellent sound too!  Thank God someone was storing these gems in their vaults. This historic theater in Harlem becomes a character in the film. This is beyond must see.  Check out HBO on demand.
