Andy Warhol’s Tomato is an exceptional early moment in Warhol’s life that shapes his artistry. The relationship with Bones, owner of a local bar, is beautifully portrayed. With a smashing authentic set and simple yet poetic dialogue, this Pacific Resident Theater production makes for thrilling theater going. The tender exchanges between Bones and Andy make for a compelling rich experience.
Couldn’t have agreed more with you. Would add that I cannot imagine the effect this play produced in the setting of a small theater being anywhere as powerful in any other medium. It is such a personal story and small and subtle expressions help build it and connect with a live audience.
