Maybe when Fefu and Her Friends written by Maria Irene Fornes was produced in 1977, it could resonate with audiences. This Odyssey production gives off a pretentious vibe that leaves the audience scratching their heads. Clarity be dammed. Now I give The Odyssey credit for giving us an immersive show with the audience moving to different locations within the complex. The impeccable scenic design and lighting should be enough to keep us engaged. Unfortunately it becomes pointless as we listen to eight women mouth pieces shower us with stilted writing.
