Yesterday is a major disappointment. It’s inconceivable that Danny Boyle who directed Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours could throw this amateurish film to audiences. The catalog of Beatle music can only go so far as to engage us for two hours. Kate McKinon looks like she was doing a SNL character. Ed Sheeran looked uncomfortable. The rest of the cast was game but had no story to work with. I have to admit the guilty pleasure of hearing the songs almost made this a o.k. experience.
