Charlize Theron plays a depressed wife and mother of three children one of whom is autistic. Her brother hires a nanny to help out. There is an honest poignancy to this brutal film. Exceptional acting all around including Ron Livingston as the husband and Mackenzie Davis as the nanny. Mackenzie who gained attention in the AMC series Halt and Catch Fire is a revelation. Jason Reitman sensitively directs the Diablo Cody stunning original script. Difficult but worth watching.
