Poem of the Week-Early Morning Love

Can’t sleep

Clock ticks away at 5:30 AM

Six hours since shut eye

Do we dare?

Insomnia worry blips

Grab and hold closer

Eyes barely functioning

Warm blanketing from a cocoon

Dry mouths find relief

Stale air bursts

Quiet eruption

Crumpled sheets pray

Liberally take a moment

Hug another token of sleep
