Spoiler Alert on Peacock is a devastatingly heartbreaking film with Sally Field, Bill Irvin and Ben Aldridge all giving performances that will squeeze the tears out of you. Only Jim Parsons seems to be floundering in his characterization. The film is based on the memoir by Michael Showalter which has been beautifully adapted by Dan Savage and David Marshall Grant. Yes it is shamelessly manipulative inducing tears but who can resist a good cry?
