In the season of 5 The Crown, the new cast fails to impress.

Imelda Staunton takes over from Olivia Colman as the Queen, Jonathan Pryce from Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, and Lesley Manville from Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret. Although the melodrama remains in place, for the viewer the series has lost its punch.
