Benedetta tells an amazing true- story about a 16th century nun who is not only lesbian but also has shocking religious visions. Charlotte Rampling is superb along with Virginie Eifra who plays Benedetta. Controversial director Paul Verhoeven who famously directed Basic Instincts followed by the bomb Showgirls, does an excellent return to form with this movie.
