Poem of the Week-Winking and Blinking

buzzing.

Tables were flirting

With margeritas,

Blue chips

Blood red salsa.

The waiter, Stephen

Assigned to the birthday party

Stephen loved older men

Having never known his father

Searching for that parent.

Because Stephen and Leonard

Both had acne scars,

Stephen felt entrenched

In Leonard.

The birthday boy told him,

“I want everything to go smoothly”

I am treating everyone.”

Stephen winked at Leonard

 “Don’t worry about anything.

I am here to take care of you.”

 Stephen’s eyes never stopped winking

 At Leonard

as though Leonard

Had put a

A love spell on him.
