I’ve been wanting to watch this 1966 melodrama that many consider one of Lana Turner’s best performances. Despite the soap opera contrived plot, she makes you believe every line of dialogue. There is authenticity as her character ages and descends into the ravages of alcoholism. Special note to Russell Metty’s fluid cinematography.
