Returning to live in door theater was charged with emotional resonance last night at Disney Hall. Seeing Dudamel for the first time was an added bonus. With a varied program that included two eclectic pieces, one by Jessie Montgomery and the other by Steven Mackey, it formed an enchanting evening of stirring music. Mahler’s 4th symphony after intermission sent chills down our spine with the percussion section working overtime and the thrill of hearing Camilla Tilling bare her soprano soul was blistering. There is a performance this evening and tomorrow at 2. (October 24th)
