Somehow Jake Gyllenhaal is able to pull off the gimmick of the camera being on his face for 90 minutes without the audience losing interest. With minimal movement and hardly any interaction with other performers, this becomes a true tour de force performance. He plays a demoted cop assigned to communications-answering 911 calls. His eyes, body and voice are a revelation.
