If you ignore the lame attempts at comic relief, the pleasures of this reimagined Cinderella might juice you up. There are traces of originality in the choreography and who can resist hearing Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation”, Ed Sheeran’ “Perfect”, and Queen’s “Somebody To Love” and Earth Wind and Fire’s” Shining Star”? As for the acting, Pop Star Camilla Cabrillo doesn’t have that organic broadway musical presence required and Idina Menzel seems lost. But then again maybe there are worse ways to spend two hours.
