This film wrenched the tears out of me. It may be formulaic with each crisis wrapped up in a Sundance bow, but there is no denying the story of a hearing child born to deaf parents including a deaf sibling has powerful spirituality. Emilia Jones mesmerizes with her acting and singing while the supporting cast headed by Marlee Matlin begs you to forget any contrivances.
