This spinoff of the film Love, Simon has enough cringe worthy dialogue and contrivances to make you stop watching after the initial episodes. But if you are patient the characters in this teenage gay coming out series might charm you with their goodwill. Added plot points about infidelity, hoarding, and mental illness add enough complexity for the viewer to overlook its flaws. And watch out, your eyes might flood during the cliff hanger finale of season one. With season two the series hits the stratosphere.
