I’ve never been an Eddie Murphy fan although I thought he was superb in Dreamgirls. I rarely saw any of his super blockbuster comedy films in the 1980’s. But after listening to a rave review of this sequel on NPR I decided to throw caution to a hurricane. Surprisingly I laughed at the basically sweet humor. The musical sequences are trippy. En Vogue, Salt n’ Peppa, and Gladys Knight get a chance to tickle you. And of-course Leslie Jones from SNL is juicy funny. There could be more disastrous ways to spend two hours but for me it helped my endorphins surface.
