Thomas Hardy’s 1994 The Return of the Native is a rip-roaring melodrama. With sexual fireworks between a young Catherine Zeta-Jones and her illicit affair with Clive Owens, you are in for a rich fantasy. Joan Plowright adds an understated brilliance.  Only Ray Stevenson as husband of Zeta-Jones fails to get the essence of his character. This is an excellent opportunity to relish the Thomas Hardy story telling.
