The Hulu limited series Mrs. America traces the history of the ERA (Equal Rights Amendment). All the players are here Gloria Steinem, Betty Friedan, Shirley Chisholm, Bella Abzug, and Phyllis Schlafly. It can be a slow burn punctuated with power house sequences. Tracy Ulman rips through the soul of Betty Friedan. Her acting has never been better and she rises above the rest of the excellent cast. Cate Blanchett has the difficult multi-layered Schlafly down but the acting appears mannered and studied.
