Poem of The Week-Recycled

Plastic collections have no place to go

China doesn’t want it

Composting failed in Santa Monica

Recycling doesn’t follow the rules

Paralysis encumbers me

Voting my wishes

Empty politician words

Flaring enemies

Denying the millennials

Driving less in my Camry hybrid

Walking no motoring

Public transportation

Blue Bus

Keeping shirts and pants

Over thirty years old

Rather than unnecessary

Simple choices that make

The planet saner

No waste

Except my body excrements

Stop paper usage

Reading from my i-phone

Like a millennial

Reducing laundry

And dishwasher cycles

Waking to a simpler

No food wasted

Leaving a refreshed earth

For my niece and nephew

Ashley and Michael

My legacy

So, they can breathe
