Bekah Brunstetter the writer of The Cake, has a new play at the Rogue Machine in Venice. Besides the technical feat of having a large puppet elephant on stage, this is a work that deals with religion, sexual relationships, death, and treatment of animals. And Bekah does it seamlessly. I don’t want to give too much away because the surprises in this rich production should be experienced without any preconceived knowledge. Lovely work by all the actors. Thought provoking without being preachy.
