I was glued to Mindhunter on Netflix for all ten episodes of season one but season two was deeper and even more riveting. It’s simple compelling plot line revolves around researching and analyzing serial killers similar to Richard Speck, Charles Manson, etc. by the FBI in the 1970’s. The goal was to understand their brain and use the information to prevent future murders or solve serial type crimes. Despite the horrible details, the series refuses to show any actual violence. It’s all done with pictures from the crime scene or interviews with the incarcerated criminals. Words and photos are more disturbing that visual live action recreations. The show does a brilliant job of engaging us with these men and women of the FBI through their back story. Jonathan Groff heads the bravura cast. Flawless television that is as good as any theatrical feature.
