The Last Black Man in San Francisco has a robotic story and character feel that eliminates any emotional resonance. Despite some beautiful shots of the city, the film dragged and turned into a torturous experience. Seeing Danny Glover brought a few moments of needed joy. The theme of gentrification is important but this movie doesn’t do it justice.
