This dingy five episode HBO miniseries called “Chernobyl” drags during the first half hour. The standard practice of using British accents for the Russian characters is distracting and lacks authenticity. Just when I was about to tune out, the core of show is thrust upon the viewer.  The corroded misinformation from the Russian government about the accident is devastatingly detailed. We are in horror genre territory and there is no way out.
