You have to give the new NBC series “The Village” credit for trying to recreate the feeling and texture of “This is Us”. And with a group of likeable characters played by a talented cast, we want to root for the series. But where this show falls off the charts comes from no unifying story line. It’s not enough to use “it takes a village” to solve a host of issues from teen pregnancy, veterans returning to civilian life, cancer diagnosis, and immigration deportation. Based on the pilot loaded with enough cliche ridden dialogue to fill a village, there is little reason for a second viewing.
I will take your word for it
