The Cantilena Trio made up of a tenor, guitarist, and flutist gave us a breath of sanity as they moved through their eclectic program. Starting with the elegant Mozart’s “Alleluia”, then John Dowland’s sad “Flow my Tears for tenor and Guitar, followed by Bellini gorgeous “Torna”, and Issac Albeniz’s Asturias solo guitar you’re transported to another world. The guitar on Astor Piazzolla’s “Histoire du Tango” had exceptional work by Kenton Youngstrom. The highlight for me was Gabriel Faure’s Pavane. Copeland’s “I Bought Me A Cat” was a hoot. The concert ended with Fred Ahlert’s “I’m Gonna Sit Down Right Down” altered to accommodate the President’s obsession with tweaking.
