The Kominsky Method would be an excellent dramedy if I hadn’t let The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel establish the high bar for comedy. Michael Douglas is o.k. but a bit predictable as an acting teacher. Alan Arkin is brilliantly subtle. The writing is fine and hits comedic and dramatic marks effectively. I just felt there was a missing link. I couldn’t quite let myself get swallowed by their characters. I am a fan of the Chuck Lorre and have enjoyed The Big Bang Theory and Mom which he created. This may be one of those series where I can’t judge it by whether it is binge worthy.
