This is one of those minimalist musicals where theater magic is created without sets or costumes. The pleasures are abundant as we track the stories of the planes diverted to Newfoundland after 9/11 and how the townspeople interact with the passengers. The music is seamless and played with joyful glee by the small band. Inspirational without being sentimental. It’s no wonder it’s been a hit on Broadway and filled up the Ahmanson Theater on a Thursday night. Try the $30.00 tickets on side orchestra if they are available for the remaining performances. The sightlines are flawless even though the tickets are called limited view.
