Poem of the Week-Standup

Standup comedy debut burst my seams

Belonging to an audience

Clowning chuckles tickled with laughs

Gravitating toward a high

Never skipping a beat

Gripping the microphone

Echoing a faint appeasement

Verbatim language unfamiliar to me

No noises in my head

Neurons shooting

Bouncing rubbery shoes

Never shooting a blank

When the applause ceases

Crashing barges in

Prep is wiped clean

Leaking pipes usurp intoxication

Pelted sober falls back

Hearing the larking giggles

Teasing an empty vessel

Floating up stream
