Jess Glynne’s new cd “Always in Between” is a glorious pop joy. She steals from the best. Can you fault her for taking Katy Perry’s signature whooping and integrating them into “All I Am”? She belts “Broken” with every ounce of Adele’s power. She sneaks a country inflection in “Hate/Love”. The lyrics channel Shirley Bassey’s “Never ,Never, Never” with “Because I loved you, Now I hate you, And I can’t hurt” . “Won’t Say No” and “Rollin’” are two infectious toe dancing tracks. There are some great bonus cuts highlighted by “These Days” with Macklemore. The irresistible “I’ll Be There” is one of most enticing songs of 2018.
