This is an important film that deals with gay conversion therapy. I just wish it had been directed in a more energetic fashion. The slow build to the ultimate horror and consequences of teaching teenagers to hate themselves for being gay feels flat. The cliché indie feel works against the subject matter. Chloe Grace Moretz grabs our attention in the lead but ultimately is undone by the monotonous pacing. I hate criticizing the film.
