My Fair Lady 2018 Album-Spotify

Starting with the overture the crisp tight arrangement bristles with chill breath-taking musicianship. It is unlikely we’ll ever see a touring production of the show, so this version is the closest we’ll come to hearing Lauren Ambrose hit those death defying Julie Andrews owned notes from “I Could Have Danced All Night”. She doesn’t obliterate the comparison but she surely relishes the character of Eliza and takes her to a new realm. Harry Haden-Paton dives into the Professor Higgin’s song with clarity and tonal brilliance. Throughout the brass section elevates the score. A joyous listen.
