The CD kicks off with the strong beat of “The Way I Am” that tackles celebrity. “L.A. Girls” has a Justin Bieber vibe.   “Done for Me” the duet with Kehlani has rich backup harmony combined with clear wailing. “Patient” cries out with “just trust me”. The acapella duet “If you Leave me Now” with Boyz to Men is the perfect minimalist arrangement. “Boy” has excellent guitar railing. The duet with James Taylor on “Change” is a vibrant meshing of gorgeous voices. With “Through it All” the lyrics of “God Only Knows” adds an element of spirituality usually lacking in mainstream pop.
