This is a Jewish orthodox lesbian melodrama directed by Sebastian Lelio who recently won the Academy Award for A Fantastic Woman. The highlight of the film is Rachel McAdams. She breaks your heart as her teenage love (Rachel Weisz) returns to England when her father dies. Although married, McAdams still has the hots for Weisz. The glacially paced film covers familiar ground. The redemption and forgiveness ending wraps things up a bit too easily.
