Gone Before Goodbye written by Reese Witherspoon and Harlan Coban starts out with a great premise. The protagonist is a plastic surgeon whose husband died. Not only does she end up in Russia doing multiple surgeries but she carries around a grieftbot-an AI gadget that is supposed to act and talk like her dead husband. Unfortunately as the novel progresses it go off the rails with unbelievable plot turns and then becomes boring.
