Climate Challenge

Dear Gordon,

Congratulations! After much consideration, your play Climate Challenge has been selected for the Climate Action New Play Collective at DePaul University! Should you choose to accept, your play will be made available in an accessible online collective where it can be read and staged by anyone, rights-free, within a two-year period from publishing. The online collective will be published by January or February of 2026 and you’ll be informed when it’s live.

You will also be compensated with a $300 honorarium to be paid this Summer (2025).

We are still considering which 6 plays will be produced during our Winter or Spring 2026 season (originally intended to be Fall 2025). If your play is chosen for a staged reading, we will contact you with further details in the near future.

We’re so grateful that you’ve shared this work with us and we hope you’ll agree to share it far and wide in the Climate Action New Play Collective. Be sure to respond with your decision by July 15, 2025. Feel free to reach out to peglesto@depaul.edu with any questions or concerns.

Please note that in filling out these forms and sending them to peglesto@depaul.edu, you contractually agree to the above terms.

Warm regards,

Patrice Egleston  Associate Professor of Theatre The Theatre School, DePaul University  https://sixthfest.org Director and Co-Producer, The Sixth Short Play Festival      Alexandra Varriano  Assistant to Professor Egleston  The Theatre School, DePaul University
