Queer streaming on HBO is a two hour bore despite male frontal nudity. The pacing is off and the performances are uninvolving. Daniel Craig fails to capture the essence of a closeted gay man in the distant past. All you can say about Lesley Manville’s performance is that had fun chewing the wilderness scenery. Luca Guadagnino directs with an unsure hand.
