Thanksgiving-Observations

I have lived through 197 Thanksgivings When I celebrated my 100th, I began feeling gratitude that I was still living. When we go around the table and get asked what they are thankful for I say, “I love my life. I have always been a night person and sleeping through the day brings me such joy. And my favorite body part is the neck. Sucking the blood from the neck invigorates me but I will I compromise on thanksgiving, and slurp the blood from the turkey. I hate what garlic does to me and feel fortunate that it isn’t used in making the turkey.  And finally what a blessing to never see myself in a mirror. Even if I don’t age, I don’t have to see flaws—hair growing out of my ears and lines of worry in my forehead and blood stains on my teeth.
