Horse written by Geraldine Brooks is top-notch historical fiction that easily moves from the 1850-1870 and 2019. One of most celebrated and famous race horses-Lexington-drives the narrative beautifully.

So well written and amazing how she links the past with the present. And somehow she made all the technical stuff about racing and horses fascinating. And I didn’t realize until I read the afterword that race has a double meaning !
