Origin on Hulu is an excellent hybrid of documentary and fiction. Ava DuVernay directed and wrote (adapted Isabel Wilkerson’s book-Caste)) stupendously. Miraculously she has made an entertaining work of art that also serves as a educational tool. Leads Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Jon Bernthal make the film succeed because of their chemistry and never turns the film into a lecture.
