Living showing on Netflix starts out a little slow but within 15 minutes you will love the film. Such a rewarding experience. Upbeat and hopeful. Bill Nighy’s performance is sublimely brilliant. Oliver Hermanus directs magnificently. The screenplay by Kazuo Ishiguro, was adapted from the 1952 Japanese film Ikiru directed by Akira Kurosawa, which in turn was inspired by the 1886 Russian novella The Death of Ivan Ilyich by Leo Tolstoy.
