Poem of the Week-Parched Frame

A cracked dark canvas

An old dutch woman

Spilling milk

From a pitcher

For her parched children

Framed

Needed an overhead light

For corneas to capture

Faded images

Golden metal lamp bulb

Fails to ignite

Broken switch

Or loose filament

Wiggling the wire

Socketing electrical

Current

Botched

Mom’s prized art

An inheritance

Years after her death

Never repaired

Then the light fixture

Revitalized by

A flick of fingers

Brought the painting

Back to life

Miracle.
